Exclamation The Sleeping Dragon Has Awakened

I had a spare ounce of NYC Diesel and decided I was going to make a tincture. I didn't break up the bud much as it puts too much plant matter in the end product, which effects taste. I pretty much just took out any huge stems, popped the nugs in an oven at approximately 220 F for 1-2 hours. Once done I poured an entire bottle of Stroh 80...but you can use pretty much any high ABV alcohol, like everclear or the 151's. Most recipies call for 1/8 ounce to two cups, I suck at math so I just did a whole once to the 750ml bottle...which is roughly 3 cups and put it in a mason jar.

Now from here, some people just let it sit for 4-6 weeks, but that is unnecessary, and I am far too impatient for that. I boiled some water, but the mason jar into the boiling water then brought the mixture to about 172 F and reduced the mixture down by 25%. After it cooled, I strained out the plant matter then put the tincture into a large air-tight container.

From the larger container you can fill up a couple of little dropper bottles. I dabble as an apothecary and usually mix in other tinctures like Valerian root. I usually take it straight, but putting it into something with a strong taste like cranberry juice is far more tolerable. If you reduce the mixture by half instead of 25%, you can add in honey, agave nectar, glycerin, etc.

When testing this stuff, following my recipe...go slow. I would say start with half a dropper full, especially if you are sensitive. I like to take about 2-4 drops before bedtime for insomnia, knocks me out cold.

Step by step pictures would be great. Sounds kinda dangerous without direction.
