Blowouts (bho)

I recently had a rather shitty experience making bho. Although safe I contaminated my end product when my extractor tube (o-kief) decided to blow its top. I unfortunately made the mistake of leaving 2 other batches on the same table and when the pipe popped it's top weed confetti went EVERYWHERE. Now I know what people when about the confetti, shit that stuff was all over. I wear protective gear, FR coveralls and some WileyX protective glasses along with some welders gloves.

My glasses were filled with sticky BHO and little tiny bits of weed. If I overlooked this part I would probably be in agony trying to wash that stuff out of my eyes!

Overpacked tube FTL. Put 40! (lol) into a 20 gram tube, totally user error, was just being quick and sloppy, can't do that!

I ended up making an absolute with the contaminated dishes which turned out a bit too sweet for my taste. Felt lik eI lost 10+ grams of oil :/

Lesson learned. Can anyone relate?

Doesn't sound very safe but you were smart to wear those safety glasses. I read a story where someone went to the doctor to check out his eye after a blow out. They put yellow dye to show where cuts were in his eye and when they did it his entire eye was bright yellow! He wasn't blind and was fine afterwords but he had micro spliters of weed inside his eyeball and sticky resin to boot. Be careful!

I had my first blowout and boy did that scare me. I was only wearing cheap 99 cent store safety glasses and now I have a $50 super face protector.

My blowout was caused by over stuffing the tube and spraying at an angle. The angle allowed my grip to slip and the pressure to shoot through my rubber stopper, basically destroying the rubber stopper due to the pressure. It blew the hole 2x as wide, funny though, the stopper didn't shoot out, just blow through it.
