LOS ANGELES — California’s legal pot market opens for business on Jan. 1. The day will be a milestone, but what exactly will happen then and, especially, in the weeks and months to come is unclear.

Lori Ajax is the state’s top pot regulator and has been at the center of the effort to establish rules for a legal pot economy valued at $7 billion.

The memorably-named God Bud rose from underground fame in Canada's medical pot community to international acclaim when BC Bud Depot debuted it as a commercial strain in 2004. The heavy yields and strong effect have made BC God Bud an indica worthy of praise. BC God Bud delivers a musky, tropical flavor with herbal edges and hints of lavender, berry, and pine. The high is well balanced, a slight creeper with long-lasting effects, starting with a calm, pleasant feeling and increasing to a more surreal, nearly hallucinogenic buzz.

In a desperate attempt to avoid being sued into the pits of bankruptcy, Purdue Pharma, which manufactures the rock star painkiller OxyContin, is on the move to settle opioid lawsuits all over the country. A recent report from Bloomberg suggests the company could offer states “payoffs” to keep from being implicated in the U.S opioid epidemic.

It seems the orders coming down from the boardrooms of Big Pharma is to throw money at those states affected by the opioid crisis and hope that it is enough to keep the situation out of court. Apparently, Purdue has sent a legal team out into the field to see how well received the concept of a settlement is to state attorneys general. The goal is to strike up a preliminary deal and prevent more states from launching investigations.

The company has to do something to stop the bleeding.
