Record Number Of Americans Now Say They Support Marijuana Legalization

Category: Legalization | Posted on Fri, October, 29th 2010 by THCFinder

The most recent poll numbers from Gallup are now showing the highest ever approval rate for legalizing Cannabis since the 1960's. The all time high approval rate is currently at 46% with a new low of only 50% being opposed nationally.

The race is getting closer every day with more Americans jumping on the bandwagon to finally legalize cannabis. If California voters end up passing prop 19, we are sure to see more states follow their footsteps within the next few years. There is finally hope to end the prohibition against Cannabis which is far overdue. Make sure you are out voting to support the legalization of Cannabis where ever you live!

Group offers $10,000 to disprove marijuana is safer than alcohol claim

Category: Odd | Posted on Thu, October, 28th 2010 by THCFinder

As part of an ongoing effort to educate the public about the relative harms of alcohol and marijuana, the Safer Texas Campaign will pay $10,000 to anyone who can disprove three statements of fact that demonstrate that marijuana is objectively and unquestionably safer than alcohol.

The three assertions are:

1. Alcohol is significantly more toxic than marijuana, making death by overdose far more likely with alcohol.

2. The health effects from long-term alcohol consumption cause tens of thousands of more deaths in the U.S. annually than the health effects from the long-term consumption of marijuana.

3. Violent crime committed by individuals intoxicated by alcohol is far more prevalent in the U.S. than violent crime committed by individuals intoxicated by marijuana only.

“We are confident that this $10,000 will not be claimed,” said Safer Texas Campaign coordinator Craig Johnson, when he posed the challenge.  “Marijuana is objectively and unquestionably less harmful than alcohol, and these three statements are representative of that fact.  Alcohol is more toxic than marijuana, more likely to lead to the death of the user -- either by overdose or chronic use -- and more likely to contribute to violence.  For good measure, alcohol is also more addictive than marijuana.  As we consider whether to reform our marijuana laws, it is important that the people of Texas understand these facts.”

If you happen to believe you can disprove these assertions, please send peer-reviewed studies or government statistics that contradict all three of them to safertexas@protectyouth.org.

Get ready baseball fans, if you are in San Francisco and ready for the Giants to win and happen to be a medical marijuana card holder then you are set to get some free green. A local San Francisco dispensary is offering a free Joint to it's customers every time the Giants hit a home run.

You have to be a the dispensary at the time of the home run but it sounds like a game plan to me. They are also offering weed infused orange drinks and some bright orange Ganja in support of the Giants. Our hats off to the Releaf Herbal Center for being so kind.
