Cannabis competition charity event ruined by High Times and the man!

Category: Events | Posted on Wed, November, 10th 2010 by THCFinder

Kevin Reed can't catch a break. Reed, the CEO of medical cannabis delivery service The Green Cross, has for the past three years hosted an annual pot party/fundraiser called the SF Cannabis Cup (re-dubbed the "Cannabis Competition" for this year's fete due to copyright concerns), in which a select group of judges -- all medical cannabis patients -- get completely ripped as they sample roughly 60 of the best grams of cannabis, concentrates, and edibles Bay Area dispensaries have to offer.

The fourth annual iteration is this Sunday, Nov. 14 -- but after a few calls from SFPD forced a costly venue change, all of the funds that were to go to the SF chapter of Americans for Safe Access have been eaten up. And now, New York City-based cannabis culture magazine High Times is threatening Reed with legal action, promising at least $75,000 in legal fees as well as seizing all of the proceeds from the event if Reed goes forward.

Patients protesting medical marijuana raids in San Jose

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Wed, November, 10th 2010 by THCFinder

Drug agents have raided three local providers in the last few weeks, the San Jose Mercury News reported. Several others have closed, fearing they will be next.

While a statewide marijuana legalization referendum failed last week, voters in San Jose and several other cities backed local measures to tax and regulate the drug.

County narcotics agents also have run a sting operation, arresting almost two dozen people accused of "perverting" the California medical marijuana law.

Bluntology 101

Category: Culture | Posted on Tue, November, 9th 2010 by THCFinder

Reading the paper a couple months back, I saw that Snoop Dogg was going to be playing locally, at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana, CA. This was my opportunity to finally meet the master rapper himself and ask him to show me his famous blunt-rolling technique. Hearing about the master rapper Snoop Doggs rolling technique through the grapevine we decided to go ahead and learn a thing of two from the all time master. Everything he uses is all natural and perfectly designed to get you as high as a kite.

Snoop Dogg is a big fan of purple indica and nothing can compliment his rolling technique, As you can see above he has some original blunt papers, some of the finest weed around so what more can you possibly ask for than sample some fine weed with one of all times most famous rappers.

Cannabis Advocate For Texan Of The Year

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Tue, November, 9th 2010 by THCFinder

Readers emailed that Texas native Richard Lee the force behind California's Proposition 19 which would have legalized marijuanause, should be recognized as Dallas Morning News Texan of the Year

Suzanne Wills of Dallas Wrote:

“Richard grew up in Houston. He had a happy, active lifestyle until he was 27. Then, while working as a lighting technician, he fell off a scaffold and broke his back The injury left him paralyzed below the waist. Suffering from sleeplessness, spasms and other complications, Richard told his parents he was considering suicide. Then he learned that cannabis relieved his pain and quieted his spasms.” “Since cannabis was illegal in his home state, Richard moved to Oakland after passage of Proposition 215, which legalized marijuana as a medicinal herb in California. ... Soon afterwards, he opened two dispensaries then, his most famous venture, Oaksterdam University. It has trained nearly 10,000 students in marijuana cultivation, law and advocacy”

The proposition lost last week with 46 percent of the vote in support. Still, 1.6 million Californians cast their ballots for the right to use marijuana without violating state law.

Arnold says no one cares if you smoke a joint

Category: Politics | Posted on Tue, November, 9th 2010 by THCFinder

‘No one cares if you smoke a joint or not,’ the Hollywood actor-turned-governor told late night chat show host Jay Leno. Arnold was more than happy to puff on a joint in his old school documentary Pumping Iron so it's no surprise that his attitude towards cannabis is more positive than negative.

High Without The Smoke

Category: News | Posted on Tue, November, 9th 2010 by THCFinder

A Colorado soda company has developed a brand new line of sodas that have an unusual ingredient yes that’s right you guessed it, its marijuana. The brand is called “Dixie Elixir” and they have made their drinks available to anyone with a prescription for medical marijuana and of course who doesn’t enjoy the smoke.

The “Dixie Elixir” drinks come in a variety of different flavors ranging from pink lemonade, root beer and grape. But if the company really wants to get their drinks into the hands of marijuana lovers, they may want to start concocting a pizza and nachos flavor. But marijuana is only legal to consume in 14 states with a prescription from a doctor. So, unless you are one of the approximately half a million people who is a medical marijuana patient, this pot-infused soda won't do you much good.

It's an open secret that you can smoke marijuana and still be a valuable part of society. But when you think of smoking weed, you're more likely to think of Cheech and Chong than the people running the United States government Even though at least two U.S. presidents have admitted smoking it. The drink makers say part of the reason they developed their line of mary-jane drinks was to remove that "reefer madness" stigma associated with marijuana smokers.
